Medicare
Medicare is the federal health insurance program for people age 65 and older, certain younger people with disabilities, and individuals with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) or ALS.
If you're already receiving Social Security or Railroad Retirement benefits, you'll usually be enrolled in Medicare automatically. If not, you'll need to enroll yourself when you become eligible.
Enrolling on time is important. Delaying enrollment may result in late enrollment penalties or higher monthly premiums, depending on your circumstances.
